More than just a meal, the Live Cooking Brunch is an immersive celebration of Lake Como’s rich, rural culinary traditions — a journey into the province’s forgotten recipes and time-honoured techniques. Held within the elegant setting of Palazzo Odescalchi, this unique brunch invites guests to witness the preparation of beloved local dishes, many of which are rarely found outside of family kitchens.
From the moment the chefs begin to mix and knead, the experience becomes interactive and sensory. Watch as Cutizza — the rustic, skillet-cooked pancake — is made to order, with seasonal apple variations. Discover Miascia, a traditional bread pudding made with dried fruits, or taste the subtly sweet Pan de Mej, made with corn flour and scented with elderflower. You’ll also find Resta, the Easter sweet bread with hidden surprises, and a beautifully presented Crema del Lario served with fresh fruit.
The savoury selection includes focaccia al grano saraceno (buckwheat focaccia) and a carefully curated board of fresh local cheeses, such as Zincarlin, robiola, and ricotta — ideally served with local honey and walnuts. For those who enjoy cured meats, we offer slices of bresaola or slinzega, alongside freshly baked Larianella bread.
All ingredients are locally sourced, many from small-scale producers and mountain farms, selected for their quality and seasonal character. Guests are welcome to engage with the chefs, ask questions, and learn the stories behind these once-forgotten recipes.
